The name Rigs comes from a nod to everyday gear — the tools,   trucks, uniforms, and “rigs” that people rely on to get the job done. We wanted a name that carried that same spirit of reliability, grit, and style. Just like a good rig, our hats are built to last, designed with intention, and made for everyday wear.

Rigs was founded in Toronto by Connor, a full-time firefighter, and Carlie, a nurse. Both of us know what it means to work long shifts, value community, and take pride in what we do. Starting this company together was about creating something we could share beyond our day jobs — a brand that celebrates real people, real stories, and the lifestyle that comes with them.

Our Slogan: "Tip 'em if you got 'em”

The phrase “Tip 'em if you got 'em” is rooted in the old tradition of tipping your cap — a small but powerful gesture of respect. Back in the day, a simple lift of the brim was how you showed gratitude, acknowledged a stranger on the street, or offered courtesy to someone passing by. It didn’t matter who you were — everyone understood the gesture. At Rigs, we carry that tradition forward. To us, tipping the cap is about more than just style; it’s about recognizing the people around you, honoring hard work, and never forgetting the value of respect in everyday life.
